Popular and one of the most successful cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni got married to his childhood friend Sakshi Rawat on 4th of July Sunday. MS Dhoni led the Indian Cricket team and won the world cup in 2011. This was a historic win as Indians fought against formidable opponents like Australia, Pakistan (Semi finals) and finally Srilanka in a nail biting finals.The marriage ceremony was held at Almora in Uttarakhand, India. Some of his collegues and team mates who were present at the wedding were Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, RP Singh, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma. Popular Bollywood actors including John Abhraham were seen at the wedding venue. The 28-year-old wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni got married to Sakshi Rawat, a 23-year-old hotel management student.  The MS Dhoni Sakshi Rawat wedding took place at the picturesque Vishranti Resorts in Bidhauli, about 25km from Dehradun and was strictly a private affair with about 50 close relatives from the families of the bride and groom, along with some Indian cricket players.

BCCI secretary N Srinivasan, owner of Chennai Super Kings, which was led by Dhoni, and BCCI president Shashank Manohar also attended the ceremony. Dhoni's wife Sakshi Singh Rawat is Hotel Management graduate from Aurangabad and is originally from Kolkata.

Dhoni’s father and Sakshi Singh Rawat’s father have worked together for a long time and are close friends. Bollywood actor John Abraham introduced Sakshi Singh Rawat to Dhoni 2 years ago which was indeed fruitful. Dhoni wore a black 'sherwani' while Sakshi was dressed up in 'churidar-pajama'.

Tight security was thrown around the resort. The media was practically kept out of bounds and they had to station themselves at a 1 km distance from the main gate of the sprawling resort to keep it strictly private. MS Dhoni has so far played 43 Tests, 166 ODIs and 25 T20s and is the skipper of the Indian cricket team. Dhoni is now captain of India in all three forms of the game, leading the team to its first ever bilateral ODI series wins in Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
